Barbara LeBey practiced law for several years before spending fifteen years as a Judge with the State of Georgia. She is the author of two books "Family Estrangements: How They Begin, How to Mend Then, How to Cope with Them", and "Remarried with Children: Ten Secrets for Successfully Blending and Extending Your Family" and several magazine articles including Why Families Are Growing Apart in USA Today Magazine and Bury the Hatchet in AARP The Magazine.
Barbara LeBey has appeared on many TV and Radio shows, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Diane Rehm Show, and in People Magazine. Her books have been featured in newspapers throughout the country. She is best known for giving heartfelt advice to ordinary people who are not dysfunctional or seriously impaired but who have the kind of problems most of us face just trying to live full, productive, and happy lives while we provide the same for loved ones along the way. She has given many talks to groups of both men and women, and finds that people are hungry for help with the complexities of family life.
In addition to her professional pursuits, she is an active member of International Womens Forum and an involved grandmother. Before becoming a lawyer, she was a high school English teacher in New Jersey where she was born. She graduated from Montclair State College and with highest honors from Emory University School of Law. She is a devoted wife and the mother of a daughter, a son, and four stepdaughters. Her hobbies are painting in oils, walking with friends, and reading fiction and nonfiction. Though her home is in Atlanta, Georgia, she is also a summer resident of Marthas Vineyard.
